Principal Civil / Structural Railway Engineer

Hours: BST: 8:00 - 18:00 (Mon/Thurs), 8:00 - 16:00 (Fri)
We are currently seeking a Principal Civil / Structural Engineer working in the railway sector for a small and growing consultancy with an office in the suburbs of London. The consultancy offers an autonomous approach and is rapidly growing its portfolio of clients, including some main Tier One contractors working on exciting new and renewal railway projects.
Responsibilities
* Lineside Civils and Structures
* Platform extensions
* Station refurbishments
* Depot buildings and structures
* Substation design
* HV cable route design
* Renewables schemes
* Embankment and cutting works
As a principal you will also have the opportunity to get involved with business development and pitching to new and existing clients to develop the consultancy further.
Requirements
* Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
* 8 years experience with design and design consultancy practice
* Have experience in Railway, Energy or Infrastructure
* Have existing experience of managing a team of engineers and technicians
* Strong written and verbal skills
* Experience with railway and engineering software – CAD and Microstation
* Great health and safety experience and always maintaining and CDM
* Masters degree in the following discipline
* Chartered or near chartered with the ICE and ISTRUCtE
* Can manage a project financially
