At Tarmac,
we are looking for a Category Manager to join the team based at our T3 Head Office in Solihull.
About the Role
As the Category Manager, you will report into the Senior Procurement Manager and be responsible for the management and control for all local spend in the category cluster of circa £50 million. The roles also comprises of developing and influencing best practice strategies to deliver value and cost savings for Tarmac.
Your responsibilities in this role as a Category Manager will include (not exhaustive)
1. Working on the management of strategic relationships with key country suppliers to drive value aligned to Tarmac’s objectives
2. Proactively engaging and influencing stakeholders; including Excom, CRH Category Cluster teams and local cross functional teams to deliver sourcing initiatives
3. Being seen in Tarmac as the expert in category knowledge
4. Maximising the value of contracts through compliance activity, proactive business engagement and responsiveness to stakeholders
5. Driving procurement KPI performance management through contract management
6. Creating a culture of continuous improvement with tangible results
7. Driving category cluster synergies across the UK businesses and Ireland cluster
What we are looking for
We are looking for a Category Manager who has previous experience in the same or similar position, is results driven, has a mindset and can think strategically. You will be someone who can drive innovation, demonstrate strong stakeholder management and can show strong problem-solving skills.
