Infrastructure Engineer

Are you an experienced Infrastructure Engineer looking for your next challenge? Do you thrive in a collaborative environment where process and teamwork matter just as much as technical skills?
We are seeking a highly capable and team-oriented Infrastructure Engineer to join our clients IT team in Gillingham. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and evolving their infrastructure, ensuring stability, security, and performance across their systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Support and manage infrastructure solutions in a hybrid environment (on-premise and cloud).
* Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain systems and applications to ensure operational effectiveness.
* Collaborate with other teams and departments to implement new technologies and processes in line with business objectives.
* Follow established business procedures and contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes.
Key Technical Skills / Experience Required
* Active Directory – GPOs, authentication protocols, domain controller support.
* VMWare – ESXi, vCenter, troubleshooting and performance tuning.
* VEEAM Backup – Configuration, support and recovery processes.
* SolarWinds – Monitoring and alerting systems.
* Core Network Services – DNS, DHCP, domain controller management.
* Windows Server – In-depth knowledge of Server 2012–2019 and upgrade strategies.
* Understanding of SecOps and DevOps philosophies and their impact on infrastructure.
Desirable / Beneficial Skills
Experience or exposure to:
* Storage technologies such as MSA, NetApp, 3PAR, or other SAN environments.
* Microsoft Intune – Endpoint management and policy control.
* SCCM – Software, application, and package deployment.
Personal Attributes
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow structured business processes and procedures.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
* Strong team player with the flexibility to support wider business needs.
