Location: Small Heath Start: ASAP Pay: £110–£119 per day (depending on experience) Contract: Long Term Are you an experienced DT Technician with a strong background in Resistant Materials and a passion for supporting practical learning? We are working in partnership with a well-established secondary school in Small Heath seeking a dedicated DT Technician to support their Design & Technology department. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school where practical, hands-on learning is a key part of the curriculum. The Role: You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of engaging and safe DT lessons, particularly within Resistant Materials, ensuring all practical work is prepared to a high standard. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare, set up and clear away equipment for Resistant Materials lessons (woodwork focus) • Maintain, service and safely store workshop tools and machinery (e.g. saws, drills, sanders) • Support teachers and students during practical sessions where required • Monitor and manage stock, including ordering materials such as timber and fixings • Ensure strict adherence to health & safety regulations in the workshop • Maintain a clean, organised and fully functional workshop environment What We’re Looking For: • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential) • Previous experience as a DT Technician or within a workshop environment • Strong understanding of Resistant Materials and woodwork machinery • Relevant health & safety qualification (e.g. SMHS certificate) • Relevant DT or technical qualifications (preferred) • Highly organised, proactive and able to work independently What You’ll Get: • Competitive hourly pay • Opportunity to work within a supportive secondary school • Support from a dedicated consultant • Access to CPD via My Progression If you are interested, please call Secondary Consultant Nachma on (phone number removed) or email your CV to All applicants will be contacted to discuss suitability and then invited to register with TeacherActive.
