About the Role

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Non‑Infrastructure team, responsible for delivering projects from start to finish, advancing resilience and asset‑related initiatives, and ensuring projects are high‑standard, on time, within budget, and compliant with investment and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage multiple projects to specification and budget while meeting deadlines and stakeholder expectations.
* Plan, design and construct capital and revenue projects related to maintenance, refurbishment and extension of water treatment and distribution networks.
* Develop viable programs using APMP methodology, coordinating estimating, scheduling, procurement, design, site construction/installation, commissioning and handover.
* Ensure key milestones are delivered on time, manage risks proactively in line with CDM regulations, and maintain project quality.
* Control spending with third parties and promote effective contract management.
* Liaise with customers, suppliers, designers, subcontractors, site supervisors and operators to keep work on track.
* Prepare and review contracts and subcontracts to meet technical and commercial requirements.
* Participate in procurement, selecting contractors based on competency.
* Manage contracts using CEMAR.
* Report progress, risks and mitigations internally and externally, tailoring communication to the audience.
Qualifications & Skills
* Adaptable, self‑starter who resolves issues, problem‑solves and pays attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills; builds trusted relationships with stakeholders and negotiates at senior levels with suppliers.
* Strong decision‑making ability, assessing complex information and making inter‑linked decisions to meet stakeholder needs.
* Passion for providing excellent service to customers, colleagues and the water industry.
* APM Foundation or project management qualification, or minimum 5 years of project management experience in a regulated industry.
* Full UK driving licence (driver assessment required).
* Experience with contract management (including NEC) and procurement options.
* Project‑management experience, ideally with mechanical, instrumentation, electrical and control bias, and in‑depth understanding of delivery processes.
* Ability to identify potential issues and work with the Programme Manager to implement business improvements.
* Ability to provide clarity on delivery timescales, expenditure forecasts and programme/milestone performance for informed investment decisions.
* Practical knowledge of CDM, NEC contract regulations, Health and Safety Regulations, LLR, and PUWER.
