Technical Service Chemist
Manchester (on‑site) – Permanent role.
We're recruiting a Technical Service Chemist to be the key technical point of contact for our commercial team and customers. The role involves supporting clients directly in their laboratories, providing product demonstrations, training, and customer education across a range of chemical applications.
What You'll Do
* Be the go‑to expert on our product range, understanding their composition, performance, and capabilities.
* Assist customers in selecting the right products, including method development and troubleshooting for HPLC, GCMS, and other analytical techniques.
* Travel internationally for on‑site demonstrations and laboratory tests (typically 2 days to a week, as required).
* Prepare clear, professional reports and recommendations for commercial teams and customers.
* Deliver training to internal colleagues and customers on product use and troubleshooting.
* Provide post‑sales support to ensure customer success.
* Gather customer feedback and insights to inform product development strategy.
* Manage time effectively, working independently or as part of a team across multiple departments.
* Embody company values and contribute to a safe working culture.
Your background
* Graduate in chemistry with strong mathematical skills (A‑level maths or equivalent). Proficiency in HPLC, GCMS, UV/Vis, and other analytical and laboratory techniques.
* Proactive, analytical problem‑solver with a logical mindset and focus on achieving objectives.
* Adaptable and independent, able to adjust approach when facing new information or changing situations.
* Influential and customer‑focused, building trust through effective communication.
* Initiative‑driven, seeking ways to improve processes and outcomes.
Location: Manchester, UK – Onsite.
