Behaviour Support Assistant – Wigan & Bolton (Full Time)

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for Behaviour Support Assistants to work full time in a range of primary, secondary, SEN, SEMH and PRU settings across Wigan and Bolton.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, and additional learning difficulties, helping them to re-engage with education and achieve their potential.
Role Responsibilities:
* Support students with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties in and out of the classroom
* Implement behaviour management strategies and follow school behaviour policies
* Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations calmly and safely
* Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access learning
* Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
* Support pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and trauma-related needs
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with young people (SEN/SEMH/behaviour experience desirable)
* Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
* Team Teach or similar behaviour training (desirable but not essential)
