Production Engineer
A fantastic opportunity for a degree-educated Mechanical Engineer is on offer at Vacgen for a talented Production Engineer. With at least five years of experience as a Product Engineer and an interest in science, this role offers career progression opportunities within our innovative company.
Primary Objectives
The main purpose of this role is to:
* Assist in the NPI process and oversee manufacturing processes
* Carry out root cause analysis and maintain the 8D/RMA system
* Ensure best practices and health and safety codes are followed
* Identify problems in the production line, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and complete administrative tasks
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Lead and carry out 8D/RMA activities, maintaining the process within Engineering
* Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for production
* Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards
* Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency
* Diagnose production line problems, provide recommendations, and train staff
* Collaborate with engineers to improve production, costs, and labor efficiency
* Establish safety procedures that prioritize worker well-being and minimize environmental impact
* Stay updated on engineering and production advancements and share knowledge with colleagues
* Identify and report unsafe practices
* Review drawings, routes, and BOM items for completeness and readiness
* Create drawings, routes, and BOM items as needed
* Schedule meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders
* Analyze production processes and recommend improvements
* Procure necessary materials and equipment
Essential Skills & Experience
The essential skills and experience required are:
* Experience with CAD software
* Proficiency in MS Office
* Proven experience in the engineering field

* Hands-on skills for assembling complex assemblies, with physical fitness and dexterity
Qualifications

* Degree or HNC/D in Mechanical Engineering
