Overview
The Croft Trust is seeking a Training Course Senior Healthcare Support Worker (level 3) in Cumbria (LA14 4HE). Closes in 28 days (Friday 28 November 2025 at 11:59pm). This is a compassionate, impactful role that supports patients with daily living activities, provides comfort and helps improve quality of life.
Hours: 37 hours 42 minutes per week. Work schedule will be discussed at interview. Duration: 2 years.
Start date: Tuesday 20 January 2026.
Responsibilities
* To support the Nurse in Charge by recognising tasks that may be delegated to other carers or yourself. Routinely oversee and monitor Health Care Assistants.
* To act as a role model to all staff in the Unit.
* To promote best practice in all aspects of the home’s care delivery; this includes care of the environment, furniture and equipment.
* To work with the Nurse in Charge and Senior colleagues to promote team working on the Unit.
* To ensure every staff member on the unit is included in the team.
* To work with new staff during their induction period and allocate tasks, sometimes on a daily basis, ensuring they are carried out properly.
* Liaise with professional staff in carrying out care plans and related activities.

* Core: Undertake physiological measurements with appropriate tools.
* Options covering Adult Nursing Support, Maternity Support, Children and Young People Support, Allied Health Professional Therapy Support, Diagnostic Imaging Support, Mental Health Support, Theatre Support: provide care across settings, including ADLs, wound care, tissue viability, pregnancy-related care, imaging procedures, and end-of-life care where applicable.
* Other options include signing and transferring individuals between services, risk assessments, and supporting families and carers in difficult circumstances.

Requirements
GCSEs: Maths (grade 4) and Health and Social Care (grade Pass) or equivalent.
