ECS Resource Group are currently working in partnership with a global managed service provider who's end client is in the Mobile Telecoms sector. We are assisting them with the search for a Packet Core Engineer on a contract basis.
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Packet Core Engineer with expertise in EPC/LTE architecture and a strong understanding of call flows and integration processes. As a Packet Core Engineer, you will play a crucial role in configuring and integrating Ericsson & Cisco MME, PGW, and SGW to ensure seamless network operations.
Key skills and responsibilities should include some of the following:
* Service Provisioning: Handle IPV4 to IPV6 migration for APNs, configure all APN-related settings in DNS, PGW-C, and PGW-U, and design and integrate IP within the packet core components.
* Architecture Knowledge: Demonstrate proficiency in EPC/LTE packet core architecture, including MME, SGW, PGW, HSS, and associated interfaces such as Diameter and Radius.
* Call Flow Understanding: Possess in-depth knowledge of call flows, including Authentication, Attach, PDU Session, Handover, etc., to troubleshoot and optimize network performance.
* Integration Expertise: Configure and integrate Ericsson & Cisco MME, PGW, and SGW to ensure smooth network operations.
* Messaging Services: Oversee messaging services, including MMS and SMS over NAS & IP, to guarantee efficient communication within the network.
* VoWiFi Deployment: Deploy Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi) services using ePDG for improved voice communication over wireless networks.
* 5G Stand Alone Core Expertise: Understand 5G Core SBA architecture, including AMF, SMF, UPF, and associated interfaces, and manage 5G converged charging (N40) and IRAT mobility between 5G and 4G networks.
* Testing and Automation: Develop test plans, execute tests, capture and analyse traces, and implement test automation procedures to ensure network reliability and performance.
