Mental Health Occupational Therapist - Intensive Life Skills Team
Band 6 Community Mental Health Occupational Therapist in South Staffordshire covering clinic and community venues across Lichfield, Tamworth, Burton, Uttoxeter, Cannock, Stafford and Seisdon.
Role within the Intensive Life Skills (ILS) Pathway, providing assessment and intervention for adults 17+ experiencing complex emotional difficulties. Travel independently across a large geographical area and use therapeutic models including Structured Clinical Management (SCM), attachment theory, behavioural theory, Compassion-Focussed Therapy, EMDR, Trauma-Focussed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mentalisation-Based Treatment, and attend DBT Essential skills training.
Responsibilities
* Deliver group based and individual interventions in line with the pathway model and utilising Structured Clinical Management (SCM); named worker for a caseload of service users.
* Strong ICT skills and ability to communicate effectively with others through technology for remotely delivered interventions.
* Participate in both delivering and receiving a range of clinical supervision and professional and clinical development within the pathway.
* Provide consultation, support and clinical supervision to other health professionals working within Integrated Community Mental Health Services and other areas of the Trust where identified as appropriate.
Qualifications & Training
* Dip COT or degree in Occupational Therapy plus post qualification knowledge and experience to post graduate diploma level as outlined in JD.
* BAOT Registered.
* Member of COT.
* Health And Care Professions Council Registered Occupational Therapist.
Experience
* Evidence of extensive post registration experience with working with adults experiencing mental health related difficulties.
* Experience of integrating care delivery across multi-disciplinary/multi-agency teams.
* Experience of leading/contributing to assessing, reviewing and implementing of care.
Desirable
* Experience of working in community setting and making decisions autonomously.
Pay & Working Pattern
Band 6 – £38,682 to £46,580 per annum. Permanent contract. Full‑time.
