Taskforce Engineer

To provide 1st and 2nd line technical support for IT services to all NHS staff within any site of the Acute Trust, Primary Care, ICB, General Practices and Community Clinics, during the hours of 8:00am to 8:00pm to the agreed working attendance.
Main duties of the job
Post holder will participate in an out of hours on call arrangement, providing 1st and 2nd line support both remotely and on site to all partner and customer organisations supported by MMDA on a rota basis to cover 24x7x365. Provide technical support within the specified hours and maintain a weekly work schedule while responding to urgent requests.
Job responsibilities
* Offer telephone, remote and desktop support to all IT equipment owned by the trust across any required site.
* Create and manage a weekly work schedule while responding to urgent requests reported through the IT Service Desk.
* Carry out system hardware and software housekeeping for applications supported by the Informatics team.
* Ensure hardware and software applications are appropriately supported and updated.
* Log all incident details in the IT call logging tool with high accuracy and maintain data integrity.
* Solve a wide variety of IT problem incidents on a daily basis, diagnosing hardware and application failures and securing fixes.
* Post project lead support for installations of key developments, new system technologies and operational changes.
* Perform system testing to ensure compatibility with existing systems.
* Maintain adherence to Local and Statutory regulations, including Data Protection Act and Copyright laws.
* Act independently on site, refer major issues to appropriate authorities, and visit numerous sites across the trust area, holding a valid driving licence.
* Distribute new or updated equipment and assess departmental needs.
* Maintain confidentiality of patient and staff information; breach can result in dismissal.
* Report all user incidents and requests using the internal ITSM Service Desk.
* Provide basic on-site training to staff and engage in personal development courses.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level within IT field or have experience in an IT operational support role.
* Experience using relevant NHS systems.
* Working towards a relevant professional qualification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, CompTIA A+ Certification).
