Mediplacements are currently looking to recruit an experienced Band 7 Responsible Pharmacist for a locum role in London. The pay for this position is £28-£35 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration. Responsible Pharmacist (RP) * Job title: Responsible Pharmacist (RP) * Reports to: Superintendent Pharmacist (SI) * Location: Juno Way, South Bermondsey, SE14 5RW * Contract type / hours: Full-time - 5 days per week - may be subject to change * Regulatory accountability: GPhC registrant; duties under the Medicines (Pharmacies) (Responsible Pharmacist) Regulations 2008; GPhC Standards for Registered Pharmacies (2018) Role- Be the RP for a new UK distance-selling pharmacy compounding unlicensed topical medicines. You'll set up and run safe, lawful services, design and maintain the Pharmacy Quality Management System (PQMS), and keep us inspection-ready at all times in a fast-paced, high-growth start-up. Key responsibilities * Act as RP under the RP Regulations 2008; maintain the RP record/notice and daily governance. * Design, implement and maintain the PQMS (risk register, SOPs, change control, training, deviation/CAPA, audits) to ensure continuous regulatory compliance. * Lead inspection-readiness * Oversee unlicensed preparation * Ensure distance-selling safeguards * Assure records integrity and retrievability (specials register; clinical/production/dispatch records). * Run monthly governance: incident/complaint trending, CAPA effectiveness, audit follow-up. * Partner with Operations, Clinical, Tech and Suppliers to unblock issues rapidly and support start-up and scale-up. What you'll bring (essential) * GPhC-registered pharmacist with a strong governance mindset. * Practical experience in any of: online/distance services, extemporaneous preparation, or quality/inspection-readiness. * Clear, concise communicator; can brief non-pharmacists and write usable SOPs. * Bias to action in a start-up: prioritise, document and close actions; learn on the job. * Comfortable owning decisions (release/withhold, refuse, escalate) with sound clinical judgement. Successful candidates must hold an MPharm degree, be GPHC registered and have experience working in an oncology setting.
