The Role
A hands on electrical design role producing building services designs for a wide range of projects dealing with clients in the Medical, Commercial and Educational industries.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Electrical building services design for power, lighting, emergency lighting and fire alarms.
2. Electrical calculations: cable sizing, volt drop, short circuit, lighting calculations.
3. Producing drawings, specification and cost estimates.
4. Coordinating closely with the mechanical design team on layout
5. Liaising directly with clients and subcontractors.
6. Attending sites, design meetings and client meetings.
7. Ensuring compliance with BS codes and relevant building services standards
8. Supporting projects from concept through to handover
The Candidate:
9. 3–5 years’ experiencein electrical building services design
10. Strong understanding ofBS codes.
11. Proficient inAutoCAD
12. Experience with calculation tools like:Amtech,Dialux or simalr
13. Ability to independently produce electrical designs and calculations
14. Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills
15. Full right to work in the UK (no sponsorship)
Nice to Have:
16. Revit MEP or MagiCAD experience
17. A supporting engineering qualification
18. IET or CIBSE membership
19. Awareness of Part L, BREEAM or general sustainability requirements
