Role Summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Field Supervisor / Wind Turbine Technician to join an established operations team supporting wind turbine assets across Scotland. This field-based role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, overseeing a regional team of technicians and ensuring wind turbine maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
The successful candidate will support operational planning, supervise field activities, maintain safety compliance, and contribute to improving turbine performance and operational efficiency across the fleet.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical leadership and supervision to a regional team of wind turbine technicians, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
* Act as a key liaison between operational leadership and field technicians, supporting communication and coordination across teams.
* Support planning and scheduling of maintenance activities, including weekly, monthly, and long‑term operational planning.
* Monitor turbine condition through inspections and reporting, identifying faults and escalating issues where required.
* Ensure accurate completion of service reports, maintenance documentation, checklists, and parts requests.
* Maintain high standards of health and safety compliance, including risk assessments, method statements, and adherence to safe systems of work.
* Conduct safety inspections, audits, and training to ensure operational teams follow industry and company safety procedures.
* Oversee the maintenance and condition of tools, vehicles, equipment, and PPE, ensuring records are up to date.
* Work closely with internal departments including technical, logistics, and operations teams to support turbine maintenance and performance.
* Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, turbine availability, and cost effectiveness across the fleet.
* Support the training, mentoring, and development of technicians to strengthen team capability and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
* Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Operations Management, or a related discipline or equivalent industry experience.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in operations or maintenance within the renewable energy sector or a similar technical environment.
* Strong technical knowledge of wind turbine maintenance and operations.
* Experience supervising or leading field teams within a technical environment.
* Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across technical and operational teams.
* Experience using maintenance management systems, reporting tools, and operational data analysis.
* Strong problem‑solving ability and proactive approach to operational challenges.
* Commitment to maintaining high health, safety, and operational standards in a field‑based environment.
