Are you passionate about the future of transportation and helping organisations transform how they deliver critical infrastructure and mobility services? Do you have the business acumen and technology leadership background necessary to help establish Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a key technology platform provider across the UK's roads, regulatory, and regional transport sectors?
This is an exciting opportunity to drive growth and shape the future of cloud-native technology adoption across some of the UK's most strategically important transport organisations — including the Department for Transport, National Highways, Transport for London, Transport for Greater Manchester, Transport for West Midlands, DVLA, and DVSA.
You will be joining at a pivotal moment as the UK Government invests £24 billion in motorways and local roads (2026-2030) and city region transport authorities lead a £15.6 billion regional investment programme. Your role will be to help these organisations harness cloud-native analytics, real-time operations management, and AI-powered capacity optimisation to increase network capacity without proportional infrastructure expansion.
You will possess both a customer-obsessed attitude and a strong understanding of how UK transportation organisations operate and the challenges they face when making technology decisions. You will have an ability to build relationships at all levels within customer organisations, driving tangible outcomes aligned with the government's vision for technology-enabled transport networks. You are a self-starter who wants to build a business, drive measurable customer outcomes, and make a real difference in how the UK moves.

- Develop and execute a comprehensive account development plan aligned with major government investment programmes and customer digital transformation priorities
- Build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with senior leaders across central government departments, arm's length bodies, and regional passenger transport executives
- Develop and articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services including cloud-native analytics, AI/ML, IoT, and data platform modernisation
- Identify and progress opportunities in areas such as multi-cloud displacement, digital twin, legacy migration, real-time traffic management, and regulatory digital services
- Coordinate and manage partner ecosystems to achieve partner-attached rate targets and extend market reach
- Understand the technical requirements of customers and collaborate with Solutions Architects, Specialist teams, and Professional Services to shape compelling solutions

- Present business reviews to senior management regarding progress, pipeline development, and roadblocks to expanding our reach in the territory
A day in the life
As an Account Manager in the Roads, Regulation & Regional territory, no two days are the same. You might start the morning preparing for a strategic engagement with National Highways leadership on their digital transformation roadmap, before joining a cross-functional working session with Solutions Architects and partners to shape a proposal for TfL's next-generation road user charging platform.
In the afternoon, you could be facilitating a workshop with TfGM on how AI-powered analytics can optimise bus network capacity, followed by a pipeline review with your manager and specialist overlay teams. You'll regularly engage with DfT policy teams to understand how the integrated transport strategy creates technology opportunities, and work with DVLA and DVSA on regulatory digital service modernisation.
Your internal stakeholders include Solutions Architects, Professional Services, Partner teams, and Specialist sales overlays. Your customers are senior technology and operational leaders within central government transport bodies, arm's length regulatory agencies, and regional combined authority transport executives. The problems you solve span infrastructure modernisation, data-driven decision making, operational efficiency, and enabling the government's ambition to do more with existing transport networks through technology.
About the team
The AWS Transport team sits within UK Public Sector and is dedicated to helping the UK's transport organisations deliver better outcomes through cloud technology. We work across rail, aviation, roads, and regional transport — partnering with some of the country's most complex and strategically important organisations as they navigate generational transformation programmes.
Our mission is to be the trusted technology partner that enables the UK transport sector to become safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. We believe that cloud, data, and AI are fundamental enablers of the government's vision for a modern, integrated transport network.
We are a collaborative, ambitious team that values diverse perspectives and deep customer empathy. We operate with a start-up mentality within the scale of AWS — meaning you'll have the autonomy to shape your territory strategy while being supported by world-class technical, partner, and specialist resources.
