As we scale, the need for a robust, secure, and modern IT function has never been greater. That's why we're hiring our first in-house IT Manager - someone who can lay the foundations, build the right infrastructure, and grow a team around them. The Role We're looking for a hands-on IT Manager to take full ownership of our IT infrastructure, security and day-to-day operations. You'll be the first internal IT hire, responsible for everything from setting up laptops and managing accounts to leading strategic decisions on IT security, tooling and future hires. This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to roll up their sleeves and build an IT function from the ground up - with support from the wider business and a clear route to a Head of IT role. Key Responsibilities Own and manage the full IT estate, including networks, hardware, software and infrastructureSet up and configure laptops and user accounts using Microsoft Intune and Active DirectorySupport the onboarding and offboarding process across the companyEnsure secure and seamless access to systems for remote and in-office teamsDesign and implement IT policies, processes and documentationSet up and maintain physical security systems including keycard access and office techManage device procurement, software licensing and asset trackingTake ownership of cyber and physical security, including risk assessment and mitigationAct as the go-to person for day-to-day IT supportPlan and scope the future IT roadmap, including hiring and managing an IT team as the business grows What We're Looking For Strong hands-on IT experience, ideally in a scale-up or SME environmentExperience managing Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Intune and remote device management toolsGood understanding of networking fundamentals - routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs etc.Proven ability to set up and maintain both software and hardware across hybrid teamsExperience with office physical security systems such as access control (e.g., keycards)Comfortable being the first hire in a function and building from scratchProactive, organised and able to work independently with minimal supervisionA clear communicator with a service-first mindset Nice to Have Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, insurance or legalExposure to compliance or data protection frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials)Previous experience setting up IT support processes and SLAsFamiliarity with tools such as Azure, SharePoint, or endpoint protection platforms What's On Offer Salary up to £70,000 depending on experienceThe opportunity to own and shape IT at a business-critical levelA fast-paced, friendly, and supportive environmentHybrid working - just 1 day per week required in our Heald Green officeAutonomy, trust and a clear route to a Head of IT role as the business scalesA chance to have real impact from day one in a mission-driven company How to Apply If you're a hands-on IT professional ready to take the lead and lay the technical foundations for a growing business, we'd love to hear from you.
