The Bid Manager will play a key role in securing new business by managing the sales pipeline and leading the production of persuasive proposals and tender submissions. Working closely with operational and commercial colleagues, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the bid process, developing and refining written responses to pre‑qualification questionnaires (PQQs), formal tenders, and client capability documents.
Beyond bid activity, the Bid Manager will also support the creation of wider sales and marketing materials, including website content and other written projects that contribute to the company’s growth and strengthen its digital brand presence.
Responsibilities
The Bid Manager will work alongside the Commercial Director to prepare, coordinate and submit our tenders and proposals. This includes interpreting client requirements, gathering information from operational and commercial colleagues, and tailoring responses to demonstrate value, compliance and alignment with client expectations.
The Bid Manager will assist with the full bid lifecycle from initial response planning through to submission ensuring all documentation is professionally written, well‑structured and delivered on time. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent project management skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines. Staying up to date with industry trends and customer insights will be important to strengthen the positioning and messaging of all submissions.
In addition, the Bid Manager will oversee the management of the sales process and pipeline, maintaining accurate records within the company’s CRM platform. This will include tracking tender opportunities, managing deadlines, monitoring progress at each stage of the sales cycle, and supporting the Commercial Director with forecasting and reporting. The role will also include the management of tender portals and completion of any Pre‑Qualifying Questionnaires (PQQs) that may be required, as well as registering interest in new tender opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience in bid management, tender submissions and proposal development, ideally within sales, marketing or business development functions
* Strong writing portfolio showcasing persuasive, structured and client‑focused content
* Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Canva or other design tools for formatting and presentation of written materials
* Experience working with CRM systems to support pipeline management
* An understanding of facilities management, with a particular advantage given to experience in the commercial cleaning sector

* Excellent written communication skills, with a focus on clarity, tone and tailoring for specific audiences
* High attention to detail and strong proofreading/editing ability
* Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to meet multiple deadlines across competing priorities
* Creative thinker with the ability to adapt messaging across bids, marketing material and sales collateral
* Comfortable working collaboratively with commercial and operational teams
* Self‑motivated, proactive and able to work independently when needed.
