Overview
Senior Service Designer – Inside IR35 Contract
Version 1 is seeking a Senior Service Designer to join a multidisciplinary team and deliver results across GDS projects for Version 1’s public sector customers. The role requires designing end-to-end service journeys and the associated products and content across digital and offline channels.
Responsibilities
* Design end-to-end service journeys and the interactions that enable users to complete their goals and meet policy intent.
* Work with users and stakeholders to determine the best approaches for designing products and services, considering overall journey and individual design elements.
* Contribute to transactions, products and content design across multiple channels and parts of the customer’s internal infrastructure.
Qualifications
* Design thinking and evidence-based design: strong understanding of design thinking and applying frameworks as appropriate; test assumptions to ensure simple, feasible solutions.
* Concepts and prototyping: create and iterate prototypes with appropriate fidelity; evaluate concepts and explain designs to stakeholders; apply and adapt design patterns.
* Accessible/Inclusive design: understand key principles and apply them; evaluate designs against accessibility standards.
* Design standards: understand and demonstrate compliance with sector standards; awareness of UK public sector design standards and GDS assessment processes.
* User focus: undertake basic user research, collaborate with researchers, design to meet diverse user needs, explain decisions and constraints.
* Consultancy skills: communicate design process and decisions to gain stakeholder confidence; manage stakeholders and know when to escalate issues.
* Agile working: align with agile workflows; work in an open, iterative, multidisciplinary team.
Clearance
