Location: Woodbridge, Suffolk
Salary: £15.00 per hour
Hours: Mixed (Weekdays with Alternative Weekends)
Contract: Permanent

Essential Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Chef, ideally in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
*
Strong cooking skills with knowledge of a variety of techniques.
*
Understanding of nutrition and ability to develop menus that meet dietary needs.
*
Food Hygiene Certificate – Level 2 (willing to work towards Intermediate).
*
NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Preparation/Catering.
*
First Aid Certification.
*
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
*
Ability to supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff.
*
Strong knowledge of food safety and health regulations.
*
Flexible to work weekends and holidays as required.
The Role
As Chef, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering nutritious daily meals for residents, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and budget control. You will:

Plan and prepare menus that meet residents’ dietary requirements and preferences.
*
Prepare meals that are appetising, well-presented, and cost effective.
*
Monitor food stocks, place orders, and maintain accurate inventory records.
*
Ensure all food is stored, prepared, and served in line with hygiene regulations.
*
Supervise and train kitchen staff in safe and effective food preparation.
*
Maintain a clean, organised kitchen with regular deep cleaning.
*
Uphold health and safety procedures, including food handling and storage.
*
Build positive relationships with residents and families, responding to feedback.
*
Take part in staff meetings, training, and development opportunities.
