If you enjoy the complexity, challenge and fast pace of working in acute mental health this role is for you. As a member of the multi‑disciplinary Crisis Home Treatment Team you will support people experiencing a crisis and those who may be experiencing a relapse of their diagnosed mental illness. We work with families and carers, remaining committed to the recovery model and a holistic approach in patients’ homes, offering a variety of therapeutic interventions and support to aid recovery. You will collaborate with the Team Leader, Discharge Lead, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychologists, Urgent Care Practitioners, Senior Support Workers and Peer Support Workers. Your role will involve liaising with other mental health services and agencies, supporting early discharge assessments for acute inpatient units, and attending multi‑agency professional meetings. Flexible hours are required to enable a 7‑day service across Chichester and Bognor; own transport or the ability to travel efficiently to the service area is essential.
Qualifications
* Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983/2007.
* Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, including practical use of FACE documentation, DOLS and best‑interest decisions.
* Knowledge of child and adult safeguarding procedures.
* Evidence of organising and prioritising workload.
* Demonstrated ability to enhance care through evidence‑based knowledge.
* Registered Nurse with current registration in mental health/LD/Adult, appropriate to the job role.
* Completion of a mentorship course or equivalent (ENB).
* Evidence of continuous professional development and significant post‑qualifying experience in the relevant care group.
* Experience working with people with complex health problems in the designated care group.
* Experience supervising staff.
* Experience providing a range of clinical interventions to people in the designated care group with a variety of health problems.
* Experience consulting with other professionals.
* Experience conducting clinical assessments, including risk assessments.
* Previous NHS experience in a similar role, or appropriate UK professional registration, will be considered for higher pay.
