Job Overview
We are looking to recruit Newly Qualified Operating Department Practitioners to join our Anaesthetic team in Main Theatres. We provide an in‑house induction, a preceptorship package, and support a team‑oriented environment for new staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide skilled assistance in anaesthetics during main theatre – CT, MRI, emergency department and patient transfers.
* Participate in a rota system that provides 24‑hour care, including weekends and public holidays.
* Support the perioperative team and participate as part of the resuscitation team.
Training & Development
We offer an in‑house induction, a comprehensive preceptorship package and regular training opportunities. A rotational plan will help you achieve competence in your allocated specialty. A dedicated Practice Development Facilitator supports your professional progress.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Registered ODP or registered nurse with an approved UK anaesthetic qualification (or a student ODP nearing qualification).
* Experience in or willingness to develop competence in operating department practice.
* Successful applicants will undertake an Enhanced DBS Check, as this role involves access to vulnerable adults and/or children.
