Overview
Newark and Sherwood District are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Specialist Public Health Practitioner (School Nurse) to join our Integrated Healthy Families Team within the Locality. Care will be delivered in line with the National and Local guidelines and public health priorities.
Responsibilities
You will work as part of a team to deliver universal and targeted health services to the 5‑19 year population and will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of this cohort of children across the District of Newark and Sherwood and to aid this you will be managing and supporting a skill mix team.
You will be expected to develop excellent partnership working relationships in order to provide seamless services to Children, Young people and their families. This is a dynamic role which will provide leadership and expertise across Universal Children’s Services within the 5‑19 age group, being an expert resource to all staff including Health Visiting as appropriate.
You will support the team to embed and manage organisational changes.
Qualifications & Requirements
This post requires a knowledgeable practitioner with excellent communication skills and a desire to develop their leadership and management skills. You must possess the Specialist Practitioner Degree (School Nursing). A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use are required for this post; reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies. Applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
