Overview
We are seeking a professional, caring and reliable Learning Support Assistants to join our team at the Weymouth campus. The successful candidate will be confident in Maths, English and IT to provide essential support to students with additional learning needs, ensuring they have equal access to educational opportunities and can achieve their full potential. Learning Support Assistants provide essential learning support to students with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), particularly those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). To ensure that students are proactively supported to develop their independence and to achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
* Provide essential learning support to students with SEND, particularly those with EHCPs, to help them access education and develop independence.
* Support students in vocational and academic settings such as in a fully working motor vehicle garage, in a theatre, a working beauty salon, a photography or art studio or a working on site restaurant supporting students to meet their potential and to help build their confidence.
Requirements
* Confidence in Maths, English and IT.
* Experience or ability to support students with additional learning needs.
Contract and Compensation
* Status: Permanent
* Hours: Various contracts available from 12 – 30 hours per week (2 – 5 days per week), Monday – Friday with flexibility to meet business needs.
* Salary: £6,039.74 - £15,099.34 depending on contracted hours.
* This is a term-time only appointment for 36 working weeks. Payment is for 41.22 weeks and includes annual leave. The annual leave is a pro rata entitlement of 33 days per annum (25 days plus 8 public and bank holidays) rising by 1 day per year of service up to a maximum of 30 days. This entitlement will be pro-rated for any part time position.
