The Mechanical Supervisor is a key role within the Maintenance team, supporting the safe operation of assets, plant productivity, and reliability. As the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will:
Report directly to the Maintenance Manager, overseeing all mechanical maintenance tasks and leading the Mechanical Maintenance Technicians and Mechanical Shift Maintenance Technician.
This role is crucial for maintaining site safety standards and ensuring compliance with industry regulations, enabling operation as a top-tier COMAH Site. You will work closely with operations to meet customer quality requirements related to ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14001, and cGMP, including cross-contamination prevention.
Responsibilities include taking full accountability for all Mechanical Maintenance activities, ensuring tasks are completed safely and promptly. Collaborate with the Planning & Scheduling team and Site Engineers to enhance plant reliability across production assets.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
* Maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental standards during all work, managing breakdowns, PMs, compliance, regulatory tasks, and defects, ensuring timely completion and proper documentation in the CMMS system.
* Manage the Mechanical Maintenance team daily, including work allocation, reviewing work packs, ensuring RAMS adequacy, and monitoring progress.
* Handle priority work from defect identification to completion, including raising PRs, organizing resources, and creating RAMS.
* Ensure work documentation is complete and closed in the Maintenance Management System.
* Manage administrative tasks such as timekeeping, holidays, disciplinary issues, and deputizing for the Maintenance Manager.
* Coordinate with the Maintenance Planner to develop job packs, RAMS, and schedules, aiming for accurate weekly planning.
* Contribute to Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and follow-up actions to improve equipment performance and reliability.
* Provide first-line problem solving for mechanical faults and work delivery issues.
* Participate in continuous improvement activities, ensuring PMs are properly raised and executed.
SHEQ
* Ensure all Environmental, Health & Safety requirements are met during maintenance tasks.
* Promote a positive safety culture within the team.
* Carry out work safely according to company guidelines, reporting accidents or near misses as per policy.
* Report and share good practices and improvements observed by the team.
Equipment Management
* Ensure timely completion of PMs, compliance, and regulatory work orders.
* Supervise Maintenance Mechanical Technicians, prioritizing work based on site needs.
* Support projects and changeovers as required.
* Coordinate with OEM contractors for inspections and plan future PM tasks with the Maintenance Planner.
