Role Overview Reporting to the Transport Planning Manager, you will be responsible for planning all customer collections and deliveries in the most cost-effective and efficient manner, while maximising vehicle utilisation to meet the companys and customers requirements in a safe and well-managed environment. You will work closely with the dayshift planning teams, providing a detailed and accurate handover at the end of each shift. Based at our Head Office in Dromore, Co. Down, you will oversee nightshift traffic activities across all depots. This is a vital role within the business managing the link between nightshift and dayshift activities. Key Responsibilities Maximise vehicle utilisation. Plan routes to meet customer KPIs and comply with drivers hours legislation. Issue drivers with clear instructions. Ensure all driver briefings and de-briefs are completed daily. Maintain the live Traffic Management System. React to changing situations to accommodate additional business, maximise service performance, and reduce delays. Monitor vehicle movements to maintain clear and effective control of the fleet. Create solutions to meet customers needs and requirements. Manage customer queries and issues, keeping customers informed and updated on changes. Criteria Strong leadership and communication skills with a hands-on approach Commercially astute with a customer-focused mindset Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, pressurised environment Strong geographic knowledge of Ireland and the UK Ability to analyse data and make informed operational decisions Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using Transport Management Systems Essential Criteria Minimum 2 years experience in road haulage or transport planning, including team management Full UK driving licence Why Join Mulgrew Haulage?
