We are a practice of 19,000 patients across 2 sites in Ware (Church Street Surgery) and Hertford (Castlegate Surgery), Hertfordshire.

We are dynamic, supportive and forward-thinking team. We are a teaching and training practice, with partners teaching GP trainees and involved in Cambridge Medical School student teaching.


Main duties of the job

* In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake duties including surgery consultations, telephone/video consultations and queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
* Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the practice or external organisations
* Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
* Effectively manage own time, workload and resources
* Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
* Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
* Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
* Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
* Contributing to QOF requirements and recording data appropriately
* Contributing to PCN requirements and recording data appropriately
* Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
* Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate and review as and when required

Person Specification


Qualifications

* GMC Registered MBBS or equivalent medical degree Inclusion on the Performers List Medical Indemnity Experience with British Health Care and Primary Care Systems Enhanced DBS Check
* MRCGP SystmOne clinical system
