Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Solicitor or legal executive to join an established family law practice. We provide services to the local community including offering legal aid to care clients.
The ideal candidate will support the proprietor who has 30 years experience of family law. The role involves conducting research, preparing legal documents, and managing case files. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our legal practice and requires strong organisational skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Duties
* Assist in the preparation and drafting of legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
* Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
* Maintain and organise case files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible.
* Liaise with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal proceedings to gather necessary information.
* Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings for attorneys.
* Manage deadlines and ensure timely filing of documents with courts or relevant authorities.
* Support negotiation processes by preparing relevant documentation and assisting in communication between parties.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a fee earner.
* Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Proficient in using legal research tools and software applications.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
* Negotiation skills are highly desirable to assist in various aspects of case management.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £15,851.34-£38,040.79 per year
Expected hours: 12 – 16 per week
