Job Description
A specialist school in the Wirral area is seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and challenging behaviour.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people who require additional support both academically and emotionally.
The Role
1. Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
2. Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
3. Helping pupils regulate emotions and behaviour in line with school policies
4. Building positive relationships and promoting a safe, supportive learning environment
5. Supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs
6. Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour strategies
The Ideal Candidate
7. Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly Autism, ADHD or SEMH
8. Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
9. Patient, resilient and adaptable
10. Strong communication and teamwork skills
11. A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
Essential Requirements
12. Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service preferred
13. Right to work in the UK
14. Relevant TA qualification or transferable experience desirable
