Role Title: Library & Academic Skills Facilitator

Location: Yale/Bersham

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £27,936 - £32,236

Coleg Cambria are now looking to appoint a Library & Academic Skills Facilitator to join our team at Yale and Bersham.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dedicated team within Coleg Cambria to support study skills delivery that enables learners to progress and achieve. Successful applicants will have an understanding of the barriers learners may face, deploying support strategies that can make a difference. You will provide group sessions on key study skills topics and facilitate a range of learning activities. An important aspect of the role will be to support learners in a one‑to‑one setting, encouraging dialogue and through careful intervention develop strategies for creating positive outcomes.

You will work closely with Progress Coaches, tutors and other key staff and provide feedback on learner progress, updating reports and data as necessary. The post holder will work as part of a team and also support activities within a busy library environment and take ownership for key aspects of the service. You will have excellent IT skills and be comfortable utilising educational technologies and encouraging others to develop their own digital competencies. You will enjoy working with and supporting a diverse range of learners and be comfortable with learners of all abilities.

Essential Requirements

* Qualified to a Level 3 or above
* Proven experience of learner support in an educational context
* Experience of delivering training and engaging support sessions
* Knowledge of learning strategies and differentiation to support individual learner progress
* Effective use of technologies to support learning
* It is essential you have strong literacy and numeracy skills at Level 2 or above.
* Proficient in MS Office, Google applications and using the internet.
* You will be expected to demonstrate a passion for empowering and enabling young people.
* It is essential you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong team player, and display energy and enthusiasm in the learning environment.

Welsh skills are desirable for this specific post. We are seeking candidates who can help us grow our bilingual provision and service.

Coleg Cambria aims to actively promote and embed the Welsh language and culture.
