Job Overview
Our experienced management and nursing team are supported by a skilled team of Health Care Assistants who provide effective care for those needing residential, nursing or dementia care.
We are looking for someone to join our team as a Health Care Assistant for our NIGHT shift of 33 hours per week - which will include some weekends.
Experience is not essential as full training will be provided however, we are looking for someone who is compassionate, kind, patient and considerate and who is sociable and enjoys being with people. The role includes providing dignified personal care, assisting during mealtimes, light domestic duties, preparing drinks and snacks and any support that our residents may need to live their lives.
Every day at the home is different, you will meet people from every walk of life and hear some amazing life stories. Each resident is unique with individual care needs and personalities. Your contribution will be immensely enjoyable as you will build strong relationships based on understanding, trust and genuine care.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
* Follow care plans meticulously to ensure each patient's individual needs are met.
* Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals to provide updates on patient progress.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Document patient care activities accurately and report any changes in condition to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
* Support patients in engaging with social activities to promote their mental and emotional well-being.
Experience
* Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in home care or care homes, is preferred, but not essential as full training will be provided.
* Familiarity with IT systems for documentation and communication purposes is advantageous.
* A good command of English is necessary for effective communication with patients and colleagues.
* A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others is essential for success in this role.
