We are actively seeking an energetic and diligent Technical Buyer to join our highly skilled team in Banbridge.
You will play a key role in the procurement of mechanical technical plant and materials for all live jobs, assisting and reporting to the Mechanical Technical Procurement Manager & Head of Technical Procurement. You will work closely with our Procurement and Accounts teams to ensure the smooth transition of all technical orders, from requesting and reviewing quotes to issuing and gaining approval of Technical Submittals, while keeping budgets updated and the wider group informed through trackers and progress meetings.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse and establish cost parameters against budgets for purchases
* Create and maintain good relationships with manufacturers and suppliers
* Make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment
* Maintain records of purchases, pricing libraries, and other important data
* Review and analyse all vendors/suppliers, supply options, and pricing when required
* Pull together Technical Submittals
* Update the wider team through trackers and other technical and supplier documents
* Ensure timely delivery of products
* Maintain and update a list of suppliers, delivery times, and mitigate against delays
* Collaborate with team members and the Mechanical Technical Procurement Manager to complete duties as needed
* Attend project meetings when required
Experience & Knowledge
* Industry qualification or at least 2 years’ experience in a technical role
* Minimum GCSEs in English and Maths (grades A–C or equivalent)
Abilities and Skills
* Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
* Ability to negotiate, establish, and close deals
* Excellent organisation and planning skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
* Effective time management
* Accurate and detail-oriented
* Strong communication skills to work well with management and staff at all levels
* Goal-oriented and a team player
