AWS Infrastructure Services – Data Center Technician
AWS Infrastructure Services designs, plans, delivers, and operates all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and ensure servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment provide continuous access to our customers. This position is part of the Infrastructure Operations team and focuses on data center operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as a primary technical resolver for data center infrastructure challenges
* Work within the Data Center Operations (DCO) team to maintain IT infrastructure and hardware
* Develop expertise in hardware and software troubleshooting scenarios
* Lead resolution of infrastructure issues and coordinate with solution teams on complex cases
* Help drive continuous improvements
* Follow and maintain the highest safety standards; own safety initiatives and projects
* Diagnose hardware and network problems and perform physical repairs
* Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
* Perform root‑cause analysis of equipment failures
* Manually handle and lift equipment (weight limits in accordance with regulations)
* Work rotating shifts (morning/late/night) and weekends to maintain a 24/7 data center environment (if applicable)
* Participate in on‑call rotation to respond to off‑duty emergency calls (if applicable)
* Shift work may require rotation between locations
Qualifications
* High school or equivalent diploma
* Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
* Experience in networking and troubleshooting
* Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
* Preferred: Experience in Linux and networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP) and in Linux OS and network troubleshooting
