Star Throwers Cancer Support Charity is looking for a warm, values‑led Chief Executive to lead our charity into its next chapter.
For more than 16 years, Star Throwers has been a place of welcome, compassion, and practical support for people affected by cancer across Norfolk. We offer a safe, friendly space where individuals, families and carers can find emotional support, reliable information, and a sense of belonging at one of the most challenging times in their lives.
Following a period of positive change and transformation, building on strong foundations we want to seamlessly continue to deliver our 2025–2030 strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and empathetic leader to shape the future of a much‑loved, community‑based charity.
About the Role
As our new Chief Executive, you will work closely with our Trustees, staff, and volunteers to guide Star Throwers forward while protecting the qualities that make us special.
In this role, you will:
* Lead and deliver Star Throwers’ strategy in partnership with Trustees and the team
* Foster a strong, inclusive, and supportive culture for staff and volunteers
* Ensure the delivery of high‑quality, impactful cancer support services
* Strengthen fundraising, income diversification, and long‑term sustainability
* Build strategic partnerships across health, charity, and community sectors
* Act as an ambassador and advocate for cancer support locally and beyond
* Oversee finances, risk, governance, HR, and operational effectiveness.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is not only an experienced leader, but who also leads with kindness, integrity, and emotional intelligence.
* Be a compassionate, collaborative, and authentic leader.
* Have senior leadership experience, ideally within the charity, public, or private sector employees with strategic leadership skills.
* Feel confident turning strategy into practical action.
* Bring experience of fundraising, financial management, and partnership working.
* Care deeply about inclusion, dignity, and equitable access to support.
* Be motivated by work that has real, human impact every day.

Practical Details
* Location: Based at our centre in Wymondham, Norfolk
* Hours: Up to 24 hours per week (flexible working welcomed)
* Salary: £50,000–£55,000 pro rata, depending on experience
* Start date: End of September 2026 (with flexibility)
