Description
The Head of Operations role will form part of the senior leadership team and report to the CEO. Based at our client's operation in Portsmouth, key responsibilities will include:
Define and execute a 3-year operational vision to support the company growth objectives.
Manage supplier relationships, embedding agreements with key suppliers that define terms for OTIF, quality standards and price stability.
Contribute to strategic planning as a member of the SLT by presenting KPI's, quarterly project updates, and long-term operational plans.
Develop a carrier strategy to ensure shipping costs are consistently covered by customer invoicing.
Develop and implement cost reduction strategies, including supplier changes where necessary.
Explore opportunities to bring final assembly processes in-house to enhance control over production quality
Foster a culture of ownership and high standards across all office and operational environments.
Drive process documentation across all departments; create and maintain a comprehensive company processes handbook.
Prepare for ISO 9001 certification by implementing quality management systems aligned with international standards.
Profile
The successful Head of Operations will live within a commuting distance of Portsmouth and be able to demonstrate the following experience:
A track record in implementing supply chain and logistics processes in a scale up business environment.
Expertise in leading end-to-end supply chain management and logistics carrier management.
Far East supplier experience including supplier negotiations, cost optimisation and quality assurance.
Experience of technical or manufacturing processes, preferably in electronics would be advantageous.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams in complex operational settings.
Strong analytical skills for tracking KPIs, identifying inefficiencies and implementing improvements.
Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and ISO certification.
Proactive problem-solving abilities with a focus on innovation in operational processes.
Effective communication skills for collaboration with teams and partners.
Job Offer
A competitive salary ranging from £60,000 to £75,000 per annum.
