Founded in 2019 by a professor from Swansea University with experience from Rice University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, we are supported by experienced entrepreneurs with track record in technology developments. The company is now in commercial partnership following funding by an international technology company focussing on new energies - our mission is to develop sustainable technological solutions using CNT material production and application in batteries, wires and cables.
We are seeking high-agency individuals to join our team and work directly with the founding team to drive our company's success at our South Wales Innovation Centre.
Nanomaterials Scientist Role Summary:
We seek a materials scientist to support the material research activities using SEM, Raman and TGA instruments, developing test protocols and analysing results.
Key Responsibilities:
* Material preparation and sample analysis: Preparation of catalyst compounds, reagents, solutions, and analysing material, gaseous and liquid samples (quantitative and qualitative).
* Method development: Adapting standard protocols for chemical analysis, and developing new AI based repeatable quality control techniques.
* Collaboration: Collaborating with team members, scientist and development engineers to support the development tests and experiments required to mature production techniques
* Analytical Strategy: Identifying the best analytical technique and procedure to detect and quantify sampling analysis, collaborating with research institutes and analytical facilities to coordinate and speed up the analysis process.
* Laboratory Management: General chemical safety and maintenance of SEM, Raman and TGA instruments.
Ideal Candidate:
* Probably a graduate with a scientific post graduate qualification, or laboratory technicians with experience in similar research laboratory environment.
* You are a quick learner who can rapidly grasp our development route and the scientific challenges we face and be
* capable of describing these scientific issues to non-technical colleagues and customers.
