Our progressive Mixed Academy in Richmond upon Thames is seeking a passionate and engaging Sociology Teacher to join our Humanities department on a part-time basis. About the Role:
* Deliver stimulating Sociology lessons to Key Stage 4 students, focusing on core sociological concepts and research methods.
* Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate contemporary social issues and encourage critical analysis.
* Facilitate class discussions and debates, fostering a respectful and inclusive environment for diverse perspectives.
* Assess student progress through essays, presentations, and group projects, providing detailed and constructive feedback.
* Contribute to curriculum development and participate in departmental meetings and planning.
* Organize extracurricular activities like sociology clubs and field trips to enhance learning.
Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Sociology or related social sciences.
* Experience teaching Sociology to Key Stage 4 students with positive outcomes.
