Location: Earls Barton, Northamptonshire Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our recycling plant. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our machinery and equipment, optimising efficiency, and ensuring the safety of our operations. Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance tasks on industrial machinery and equipment, including conveyors, shredders, crushers, and sorting systems. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to minimise downtime and maximize productivity. Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to identify potential problems and address them proactively. Collaborate with the production team to schedule maintenance activities and minimise disruptions to operations. Implement safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and equipment performance. Manage site spares and ensure availability of critical items across the site. Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment as needed. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in maintenance and repair techniques. Requirements: A technical / engineering qualification, ideally apprentice trained with an HNC/NVQ or similar. Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer or similar role in an industrial setting, preferably in the recycling or manufacturing industry. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems. Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
