About the Role
Reporting into the Finance Manager, the successful Assistant Accountant will support the team in partnering with key business stakeholders on specific focus area. You will contribute to the provision and reporting of effective financial information and management accounting at each month end and through the month as required.
What you'll be doing
In this role, you as the successful Assistant Accountant will be carrying out the following duties and responsibilities (not exhaustive)
1. Working on the preparation of and posting of journals
2. Supporting the team in delivering month end close
3. Completing high-quality balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with guidelines and timetables
4. Working closely with business unit finance teams; ensuring full understanding and documentation of any balances
5. Assisting with the quarterly Balance Sheet Reviews with business unit finance
6. Reviewing journals and balance sheet reconciliations
7. Supporting both internal and external audits
What we are looking for
We are looking for an Assistant Accountant who is in possession of the following skills/attributes:
8. Are able to deal with large quantities of complex data with Microsoft Excel skills essential
9. Can demonstrate a good understanding of accounting principles
10. Have a good knowledge of accounting and financial systems
11. Are able to work to tight deadlines and able to escalate issues confidently
