Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Brick Mason to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring structures made of brick, block, and stone. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The Brick Mason will play a vital role in delivering high-quality masonry work that meets safety standards and client specifications.
Responsibilities
* Measure and mark out construction areas using chalk lines, rulers, and levels to ensure accurate placement of bricks and stones.
* Mix mortar and prepare materials required for masonry work.
* Lay bricks, blocks, or stones in accordance with blueprints and specifications, ensuring proper alignment and levelness.
* Use hand tools such as trowels, chisels, hammers, and levels to execute precise masonry work.
* Operate power tools including drills, saws, and grinders safely and effectively.
* Repair or restore existing brickwork or stonework as needed.
* Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters, roofers, welders, and general labourers to complete projects efficiently.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications
* Must have upto date cscs card
* valid drivers licence own transport
* Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry work is essential.
* Proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, chisels, hammers, levels, and measuring devices.
* Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively.
* Knowledge of masonry techniques including bricklaying, stone setting, and blockwork.
* Experience with related skills such as carpentry, roofing, or welding is advantageous but not mandatory.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
* Good physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
* Excellent teamwork skills with the capacity to follow instructions diligently.
