Post: SENDCo, LAC, inclusion lead. Teacher required for September 2026. Hours: Full Time. Contract Type: Permanent. Salary range: M4 to UPS with TLR. Qualifications: QTS / Nasenco or NPQ; SEND qualification desirable but not essential if NPQ undertaken within 3 years of appointment.

About You
You are an outstanding classroom practitioner with a proven track record for raising standards. You are knowledgeable about all aspects of SEN – cognition and learning, communication and language, SEMH, and physical difficulties. You have experience of or the capability to develop and deliver programmes for pupils with SEND. You possess an enthusiastic and creative approach to supporting children with SEND and can support colleagues in developing strong inclusive practice.
You have knowledge of the EYFS and the National Curriculum as well as national strategies related to teaching pupils with SEN. You have proven excellent behaviour management skills and are interested in innovative ways to teach to minimise less appropriate behaviour. You have strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing. You are a good team player with a caring and dedicated approach and the ability to motivate others. You are energetic and willing to engage in all aspects of school life to achieve the best for the children within the school. You have a good knowledge and understanding of effective record keeping and how to present data effectively. You have a positive professional attitude and the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of partners and stakeholders. You are flexible and willing to try out new initiatives and are able to manage your own time effectively.
Key Responsibilities
* Shaping the school’s overarching SEND strategy in collaboration with other senior leaders.
* Being an active member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) with day-to-day responsibility for coordination and record keeping of SEND provision to support individual pupils.
* Supporting children in class and in small groups as necessary.
* Advising class teachers on strategies to support pupils, using the graduated approach to SEND support.
* Delivering or arranging CPD for all staff relating to SEND provision and developments.
* Involvement in decisions about deployment of the school’s delegated budget, support staff, and other resources to meet pupils’ needs effectively.
* Liaising with parents/carers in line with the SEND Code of Practice 2015; working with the Headteacher and senior leaders to ensure the school meets its responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 regarding reasonable adjustments and access arrangements for assessments.
* Forming positive relationships with parents and families to support and engage learning of pupils.
* Lead on safeguarding as a deputy designated safeguarding leader.
* Lead on Mental Health and Well-being; support early identification by working with the EYFS team.
* Ensure children receive the best start in the Nursery provision.
