Summary:\nWork within the Manufacturing function as part of the manufacturing engineering team.\n\nIt is a 4-year programme, with one day per week spent at Heriot Watt University and the other days on-site at the Glenrothes facility on rotational assignments, in each of the production areas and support teams.\nThis apprenticeship leads to an Honours Degree in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering. (BEng (Hons) Engineering Design and Manufacture)\n \nMain Duties:\nKey responsibilities will be to work closely with senior engineers, in each of the manufacturing areas and support teams, to learn manufacturing principles and techniques related to the manufacture of complex electronic and mechanical products.\nYou will learn the manufacturing processes, procedures and tools that are used whilst contributing to live tasks and projects.\nYou will work with cutting-edge technology, in order to manufacture our diverse range of products including automation, robotics and additive manufacturing.\nThere will be an expectation that you participate in Raytheonâs CORE Continuous Improvement Programme. This will result in you becoming a qualified CORE specialist and have the opportunity to lead real continuous improvements activities and projects.\n\n Apprenticeship Programme:\nOn joining Raytheon, you will undertake a structured four-year apprenticeship programme, on a Fixed Term Contract, which will incorporate theoretical study at university in electronic or mechanical engineering. Experiential learning throughout the four years will be undertaken in the four years, on-site at Glenrothes, on a rotational assignment in each of the production areas.\nEach apprentice is assigned an experienced engineer as a mentor and will be linked in with an existing apprentice as a buddy to ensure they have access to the help and support required. Lean Manufacturing Principles and tools\nProblem Solving and Continuous Improvement\nRoot Cause and Corrective Actions\nTechnical skills in your chosen field of either electronic engineering or mechanical engineering\nTeam work and interpersonal skills required to work in a high performing manufacturing team\nSoftware usage including manufacturing execution systems, CAD modelling, simulation software and other engineering tools. ⢠SQA Highers at BBBB including Mathematics, plus Physics or similar Engineering course\nOR\n⢠SQA HNC in an engineering discipline (or relevant Modern/Technical Apprenticeship) with Engineering Mathematics 1 & 2 (or equivalent)\nOR\n⢠A-Levels at BBC including Mathematics, plus Physics or similar Engineering course\nOR\n⢠Foundation Apprenticeship in Engineering in conjunction with SQA Highers at BBB* including Mathematic\nOR\n⢠A combination of qualifications totalling 96 SCQF credits at level 6
