Bookkeeper - Accounts Assistant – Full time or Part Time

We are looking for a full time or part time Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant with excellent customer service skills and experience of supporting all activities that facilitate the smooth day to day running of a busy
The successful candidate will be joining a family run business, who are a multi award-winning firm of Chartered Accountants, tax and business advisors in Cumbria and Lancashire, led by the same senior management team and partners for the last 25 years, supported by a hard-working high performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Bookkeeping Tasks: Post purchase and sales invoices, reconcile supplier and customer accounts, and ensure accurate bank statement reconciliations.
* VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns on time.
* Data Management: Assist the accounts managers in organising and managing client data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Document Handling: Centralise client document scanning, manage document storage, and correspondence.
* Client Communication: Respond to client queries via phone and email, prepare client correspondence, and support in managing client relationships.
* Admin Support: Handle filing, scanning, data entry, and dealing with post and office administration.
* Ad-hoc Tasks: Assist with various accounting tasks as directed by the management team.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience in bookkeeping or a similar role (experience with accounting software is a plus).
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A positive, team-oriented attitude with a focus on client satisfaction.
* Proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new processes.
