Family Support Worker - Kentown

We are seeking a dedicated Kentown Family Support Worker to provide high-quality family support as part of the pilot Kentown Children's Palliative Care Programme, in collaboration with Kentown Wizard and Together for Short Lives.

Reporting to the Kentown Project Lead from our Lancaster team base, you will work in partnership with health, education, and social care professionals to deliver needs-led emotional, social, and practical support to families with a child or young person facing a life-threatening or terminal illness.


Qualifications and Experience

* An experienced professional in child health, education, or social care. Applications from those with community experience and recognized qualifications are especially encouraged.
* A warm, inclusive approach focused on achieving goals efficiently.
* Practiced in child protection, information sharing, and data protection regulations.
* Practical, people-oriented, and capable of working at a fast pace while maintaining accuracy. Confident in IT, including MS Office.
* An effective communicator, collaborative team player, and supporter of fundraising activities through case studies and family updates.
* Knowledge of diversity issues affecting children, young people, and their families, with responsiveness to their needs.


Additional Requirements

* Flexible working hours.
* Full current driver's license.
* Enhanced DBS disclosure clearance.

Rainbow Trust Children's Charity supports families with a child facing a life-threatening or terminal illness, offering practical and emotional assistance to help families make the most of their time together.


Salary and Benefits

* £24,000 annual salary plus a Company Car (approx. £5K value).
* 5% employer pension contribution and 25 days annual leave, increasing with service.
