Managing Quantity Surveyor – Responsive Repairs | Middlesbrough
We are working with a leading organisation in the housing and maintenance sector to recruit a Managing Quantity Surveyor for their Middlesbrough-based Commercial team. This opportunity has arisen due to internal progression and offers the chance to join a growing, forward-thinking business.
The Role
You'll lead the commercial function across responsive repairs and void works, managing a team of Surveyors while driving profitability, performance, and client value. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on contract and financial management.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead commercial performance across repairs contracts
* Manage financial reporting, CVRs, valuations, and cash flow
* Oversee subcontractor management and dispute resolution
* Mentor and develop junior Surveyors
* Build strong relationships with clients and internal teams
About You
* Experience in a Senior QS / Managing Surveyor role (repairs/maintenance preferred)
* Strong knowledge of Schedule of Rates (SOR) contracts
* Proven commercial acumen and subcontractor management experience
* Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
* Strong leadership and communication skills
