WDHSCP Admin Assistant - Post Summary
We have a 25 hour post available for a dynamic and forward thinking individual, you will be based in Dumbarton Health Centre, but will be required to work across West Dunbartonshire HSCP (Clydebank Health & Care Centre, Dumbarton Health Centre & The Vale Centre for Health & Care).
You should have good communications skills and possess IT skills and experience relevant for this post, you must be proficient in using NHS Patient Management Systems such as TrakCare, EMIS, SCI etc and confident in dealing with the public, staff and visitors. You will provide effective admin support to the Community Admin Team providing efficient reception/clerical support to patients, medical and nursing staff, ensuring patient referrals and appointments for clinics are administered and processed accurately and timeously to ensure the smooth running of our health centres. The post holder will be required to work across the HSCP’s three health centres (Clydebank, Dumbarton and the Vale) to ensure Community Admin provide comprehensive cover at all sites working within clearly defined protocols and procedures, adhering to policies, data protection and confidentiality.
The 25 hours will be worked across the week, Monday to Friday from 1:00pm – 6:00pm in order to meet our service needs. After initial induction, the post holder will work with minimum supervision (at times lone working) although guidance and assistance is available from Team Lead/Line manager(s).

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
