The General Pharmacy at the Royal Cornwall Hospital is looking to recruit a Skilled Pharmacy Assistant within the Dispensary and Supply Services to ensure our patients receive the right medicines at the right time. This is a key role in our departmental strategy to focus on patient care and experience. The role is suitable for someone who has the NVQ2 or equivalent in Pharmacy Services.
Responsibilities
* Distribute inpatient, outpatient and discharge medications.
* Prepare extemporaneous products.
* Top up ward stock and dispense controlled drugs.
* Label medications using the JAC pharmacy system and assess and re-label patients’ own drugs.
* Complete accredited checking course and participate in final checking rotations.
Qualifications
* NVQ 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy Services or currently working towards.
* GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English.
Experience
* Experience in a pharmacy environment.
* Supervisory experience.
Skills
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to demonstrate good accuracy in all areas of work.
* Good computer skills.
