Deputy Home Manager – Bickham House Residential Home for the Elderly
Location: Green Walk, Bowdon, Altrincham, Cheshire, WA14 2SN
Permanent | Full-time (including some weekend and evening working on a rota basis)
Are you an experienced care professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering high-quality care? Bickham House, a well-established residential home for the elderly, is seeking a dedicated Deputy Home Manager to join our compassionate and committed team.
About the Role
As Deputy Home Manager, you will support the Home Manager in the day-to-day running of Bickham House, ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance with CQC regulations. You will lead and motivate our care team, manage staff rotas, liaise with families and healthcare professionals, and deputise in the Home Manager's absence.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support our care team to deliver person-centred care.
* Ensure compliance with care standards, policies, and legislation.
* Manage budgets and spend and contracts with our suppliers/3rd party service providers.
* Maintain effective communication with residents, families, and staff.
* Support recruitment, training, and performance management.
* Oversee medication management and health & safety protocols.
* Contribute to audits, occupancy levels, and marketing efforts.
What We're Looking For
* NVQ Level 4 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
* Proven leadership experience in a care home setting.
* Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and safeguarding practices.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
* IT proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel).
* Physically fit and able to meet the demands of a busy care environment.
* Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
* Willingness to work flexibly and undertake ongoing professional development.
* Compliance with Public Health vaccination guidelines.
