Responsibilities
Effective triage of referrals across the Black Country.
* Provide specialist assessments of children and young people referred to the service.
* Develop, implement and review evidence‑based treatment plans informed by clinical assessment and the individual’s wider social context.
* Provide clinical supervision and leadership to the assigned MHST and staff from all locality teams where appropriate.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of CPD programmes for staff.
* Work with MHST Team Leads to ensure delivery of the MHST action plan, highlight risk, plan mitigation and escalating where necessary.
* Review referral pathways, ensuring they are informed and effectively utilised.
* Lead on developing relationships with other services that support CYP and work closely with other professionals in schools, developing referral pathways and planning engagement with schools.
* Contribute to and support strategic planning, ensuring the needs of children, young people, their parents/carers and schools inform the development of the service.
* Lead a busy, adapting and changing team, proactively supporting staff as required.
* Work flexibly across the Black Country and remotely from home.
Qualifications and Experience
* Highly motivated mental health practitioner with experience in mental health problems and psychiatric disorders.
* Accredited by the BABCP.
* Experience providing in‑depth mental health assessments including risk assessments.
* Experience working with a wide variety of children and young people in a range of clinical settings.
* Experience of working with schools, delivering mental health promotional collaborative work in a school environment.
* Experience providing case management supervision to CAMHS staff, student or other team professionals.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to network with other agencies such as schools, public health, local authorities, etc.
* Genuine interest in working within children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing in a school environment.
* Leadership experience and the essential skills and values required to clinically lead and proactively support a busy team.
* Enhanced children and adults barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check required.

Location & Working Hours
The post holder will work flexibly across the Black Country and may work remotely from home. The role may require occasional on‑site visits to local schools and community settings.
