Job description
The successful candidate will play a critical role in transforming the operations function to support growth and increased automation within the business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute operational strategies to scale from a low-volume production enterprise to a high-volume, automated manufacturing space business
2. Manage key operational functions including Facilities, IT/IM, Cyber, Purchasing, Health & Safety, and Security
3. Ensure operational alignment with corporate guidelines and initiatives
4. Lead the development of advanced manufacturing capabilities to support the production of space flight products
5. Strategically manage data to enable fast, accurate business decisions
6. Oversee lab and cleanroom management, ensuring facilities are suitable for needs and maintaining quality control measures
7. Manage stores, shipping, and receiving operations, ensuring effective stock management and quality checks
8. Lead purchasing and procurement activities, ensuring cost optimisation and timely delivery of materials
9. Manage IT infrastructure, ensuring data security and compliance with corporate requirements
10. Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity policies and strategies
11. Oversee facility maintenance and operations across multiple UK locations
12. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and manage emergency response procedures
13. Manage the operations budget, tracking expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities
14. Lead and develop a team of IT, Cyber, Facilities, Procurement, and Health & Safety personnel
Job Requirements:
15. Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field
16. Extensive experience in managing multi-site facilities operations, IT, and production infrastructure
17. Experience in scaling production in high-tech commercial environments
18. Strong understanding of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety regulations
19. Proficiency in IT network management, hardware troubleshooting, and security protocols
20. Excellent budget management and financial planning skills
21. Leadership and motivation skills to manage and develop a team
22. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
23. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
24. Willingness to travel regularly to various office locations and third-party sites
